Wow, today was rough! It’s starting to feel a lot like Upfronts as networks are slowly announcing their cancellations, renewals and pilots being ordered to series. Let’s dive in and find out if your favourite show survived this bloody Thursday. And then check out our thoughts below.
ABC:
ABC really went for it today. Like a 19th century executioner, ABC beheaded the hopes of fans everywhere who just wanted their favourite show to live another day. It was a sad day, as ABC cancelled basically all of their shows that were left on the bubble.
Cancelled: Agent Carter, Castle, Galavant, The Family, The Muppets, Nashville.
Renewed: American Crime, The Catch, The Real O’Neals.
Picked Up: Downward Dog, Imaginary Mary, Notorious, Still Star-Crossed, Time After Time, Untitled Comedy (f.k.a. The Second Fattest Housewife in Westport).
Not Getting Picked Up: Marvel’s Most Wanted.
CBS:
A historic day for CBS. Next season will be the first season in 16 years with no CSI franchise airing.
Cancelled: CSI: Cyber.
Kind of Renewed: Supergirl, but there’s a caveat, it’s now moving to CW.
CW:
Quick! Someone cast Chris Wood on something, anything!
Cancelled: Containment.
Picked Up: Frequency, No Tomorrow, Riverdale.
FOX:
We really thought either Grandfathered or The Grinder would make it. It was a surprise that they both got axed. At least we’ll get to see John Stamos on Fuller House.
Cancelled: Bordertown, Cooper Barrett’s Guide To Surviving Life. Grandfathered, The Grinder.
NBC:
If it has Chicago on the title, it’s on the schedule!
Picked Up: Chicago Justice, This Is Us.
