The curtains are about to close on Downton Abbey. The sixth and final season of the beloved series is just about done with production. After the last episode airs on Christmas, there will be no more elegant dinners, no more beautiful dresses, no more witty quips from the Dowager Countess. We will just have to content ourselves with reruns and DVD marathons.
Surely the cast and crew are feeling the state of melancholy that we fans are feeling. After all,
you can’t work at something great for six years and just leave without a hint of sadness. It is pretty evident on social media as they shared the final moments of shooting this period drama
with captions that are as dramatic as the story lines.

Even those who are making the costumes were feeling the pain of imminent separation.
And then there is Lady Cora leaving with her backpack…

The others also bid their goodbyes…

Some found the humor in all of it, it can’t be all tears right?
Then there is a snap of the other stately Highclere castle used in the series.

And then there is this party at Bampton, the village which stood in as the one near Downton. A literal farewell party as the cast and crew thanked the villagers for their support over the years.

Are you going to miss it?
