Ocean’s 8 is essentially the all-female version of the Ocean’s 11 movies you know and love. Hollywood is taking a formula that has worked very well for a trilogy of films and has reworked it for a female group to take over. We couldn’t be more excited about this project! Watching a group of strong ladies take on a heist with fewer people than George Clooney’s team should be a real treat.
The cast of Ocean’s 8 includes: Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Awkwafina, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, and Sarah Paulson. The film has a release date of June 8, 2018, and we hope the use of all those eights is intentional. The plot line reads: “Debbie Ocean attempts to pull off the heist of the century at New York City’s star-studded annual Met Gala. Her first stop is to assemble the perfect crew.”
Now, does Debbie Ocean share any relation to Daniel Ocean of the male films? We don’t know, but we’d imagine she might. We certainly won’t speculate anymore than that, though. Sandra Bullock will do an amazing job as the lead of an all girl crime group because she has the same fantastic charisma of Clooney.
