“Lucy, I’m home!”
Lucille Ball became a comedic icon back in the ‘50’s thanks to her show I Love Lucy. With the original season airing from 1951-1957 winning five Emmy’s during its run.
Lucy and her husband, Desi Arnaz, along with Vivian Vance and William Frawley were always finding some kind of mischief to get into and are still entertaining audiences today.
According to TV Guide, the I Love Lucy show is still reaching American viewers to the tune of 40 million a year!
Well the laughs are scheduled to continue during the upcoming holiday season as CBS has announced that it will show a rarely seen Christmas episode from the hit show.
“The I Love Lucy Christmas Special will package two colorized installments” according to Digital Spy and will air on December 20.
Digital Spy continued that, “The first half-hour will be the show’s 1956 ‘Christmas Episode’, which mixed clips from the past with original scenes of Lucy (Ball) and Ricky (Desi Arnaz) reminiscing about the birth of their child.”
So grab some popcorn and hot cocoa and get ready to laugh with Lucy and the gang this Christmas!
