Singer Charice Finally Reconciles With Mother After Bitter Feud

Former Glee star and singer Charice has reconciled with her mother, Raquel, after a year-long feud.

On Wednesday (Sept. 10), she posted a picture of her, together with her mother, younger brother Carl, and girlfriend Alyssa Quijano on her private Instagram account. According to reports, she captioned it with, “Monthsary celebration with family. (Also for the people who doubted and thought we wouldn’t be okay. Screw you all. Now please shut up, move on and let us live our lives as one happy family.)”

In 2013, the once-inseparable mother and daughter team had a falling out after Charice accused her mom of not accepting her for what she is after she publicly came out as gay, something which her mother denies. Charice would later leave her family and chose to stay with her girlfriend, Alyssa Quijano.

Charice was a judge on the Philippines X Factor when she started a relationship with Quijano, who was a contestant in the singing competition. This happened before she publicly came out and the relationship was said to have been a major source of contention between parent and child.

This was further aggravated by criticism from fans in social media, prompting Charice to lash out on Twitter.

But thankfully, it looks like she and her family has started to move on from this dark episode; hopefully her critics will as well.
