Well, it’s over. The footage has rolled. The actors have spoken. The audiences both within and without the location have laughed, cried, and clapped at the appropriate intervals.

The Young and the Restless even came out on top, winning “Outstanding Drama Series” alongside five others for their one-hour tribute to Jeanne Cooper, “Special-Class Special.” The late Cooper appeared on the aforementioned show for four decades.

Their other awards include:

Lead Actor In a Drama (Billy Miller)

Supporting Actress In a Drama (Amelia Henle)

Younger Actress In a Drama (Hunter King)

Writing Team, Drama

Venice the Series walked away with the award for “Best Drama – New Approaches.” Meanwhile, Days of Our Lives followed a different drum with:

Supporting Actor (Eric Martsolf)

Younger Actor (Chandler Massey)

Lead Actress (Eileen Davidson)

The Daytime Emmy Awards paved new ground with three new Spanish-language categories, including Morning Program (Un Nuevo Dia), Entertainment Program (Clix), and Daytime Talent (Rodner Figueroa, one of the four talents of El Gordo Y La Flaca).

And that’s just the final update! Deadline kept everyone posted throughout the evening, marking the arrival of actors; quotes from the lovely Kathy Griffin, who delivered the opening dialogue some might have heard as “Welcome to the shit show…this is your night…”; and the hilarious stories from DEAs past Griffin shared with the audience about Kris Jenner posing with vodka shots.

 “I didn’t know there were side deals you could make with booze companies,” Griffin said, sadly.

While these pictures are probably somewhere on the internet at this very moment, Deadline did not provide any such pictorial evidence.

Griffin went on to recount some of her more memorable experiences from last year’s Daytime Emmy Awards, including the aforementioned vodka shots, and being seated at a table with Dr. Drew and Betheny Frankel, the latter of whom desired nothing more than to vacate the premises.
