BREAKING: Check Out The Trailer For DCs ‘Shazam’

With another exciting trailer drop, SDCC and DC give us a look at ‘Shazam’

Warner Brothers has brought us some dark things for their DC Universe, but things look a little different when we watch the trailer for Shazam. We’re in store for another comic book superhero movie in 2019 with this release, but we welcome it with open arms. The movie stars Zachary Levi (Chuck) as Billy Batson, a foster home runaway who gets super powers. The film was directed by David Sanberg who we know from Annabelle: Creation, but he's going for comedy instead of horror for this go round.

So, a wizard gives Mr. Batson his powers in his dark layer, available through summons and the subway. He’s Gandalf mixed with Dumbledore, his name is Shazam, and he lets Batson touch his staff (we know how that sounds) and he gets Shazam’s powers. Batson ages from young teenage boy into Zachary Levi when he gets his abilities, making him look a little strange when he goes home to his foster family. His superhero name is Captain Marvel.

Speaking of his foster family, Batson’s foster brother is hilarious in this trailer, giving off great superhero buddy vibes. The two brothers start running some super power tests which somehow include flossing, funny in this scenario. The whole preview has that great superhero disregard we’ve come to love from Deadpool. We also get to see them save a convenient store from getting robbed, find out he's bullet proof before they leave wth a bunch of snacks.

Shazam looks seriously funny and we are so ready for it. Not to mention, we love Zachary Levi. Another plus, this Shazam won’t make us think we’re all crazy like the Mandela Effect one. Don’t worry, we won’t go down that rabbit hole. Are you guys ready for this superhero movie to hit the screens?
