‘Chelsea Lately’ Signs Off With The Help Of Some Famous Friends

Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock and Ellen Degeneres were just a few faces you may have seen last night to help Chelsea Lately say goodbye to E!.

Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock and Ellen Degeneres were just some of the faces you may have seen last night (Tuesday, Aug. 26) to help Chelsea Handler say goodbye to E!.

After seven years of “ridiculous stupidity,” Handler ended her late night talk show, Chelsea Lately.  Handler kicked off the series finale with an extended shower scene where she is confronted by Ellen Degeneres about why she was never invited on the show. Handler tries for a little damage control by saying she was a lesbian, as a way to find some common ground with Degeneres.  Of course, the daytime host saw right through the lies and ends up hugging a naked Chewy and leaving.

The laughs kept coming as Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Aniston and Mary McCormack staged an intervention with Handler.

Going quickly off topic…can we get a movie with Jennifer, Sandra and Chelsea? Who do we have to talk to in order to make this happen?

And we’re back.

During the intervention, Bullock began reading a letter that she later realizes is for George Clooney and told her dear friend Chelsea that she just isn’t funny or cool.

“We love you Chelsea, but you have to get your head out of your ass. You have to get it out of your vagina,” Bullock said.  “You’re not funny. You’re not cool. I think you’re probably one of the most unhip people I’ve ever met.”

With probably one of the biggest surprises of the night Bullock pulled Handler’s ex-boyfriend, 50 Cent, onto the stage for a farewell performance.

Miley Cyrus was also there to perform before the series ended with a sing-along that involved dozens of stars, including Gerard Butler, Gwen Stefani, Selena Gomez, Tim Allen, Dave Grohl and Tim Gunn.

Don’t be to sad, though, because Handler will be headed to Netflix.  The streaming service will be presenting a Handler stand-up special next month and she will also be hosting Netflix’s first talk show, though no premiere date has been set.

What was your favorite Chelsea Lately moment?
