Chinese Box Office Could Earn Pacific Rim A Sequel

It may not have soared at the American box office, but across the pond, Guillermo del Torro’s monster flick, Pacific Rim, is sky rocketing.

It’s doing so well, in fact, that there are already talks of a sequel according to reports from Deadline.

The film “has become

‘ most successful opening in China, taking in $9 million (£6 million) – 23% higher than any of its Harry Potter films, and is currently sitting in the top position at the global box office, taking $229 million (£151 million) overall. It will open in Spain, Brazil and Japan on August 9,” according to Digital Spy.

Time will tell if a sequel will go into production, but until then you should head to your local theater (it is Friday, afterall) and check out the movie! Let us know if
