Chris Pratt and Chris Evans, Star-Lord and Captain America respectively, are superheroes, bros, all-around good guys and football fans. Pratt loves the Seattle Seahawks and Evans is a huge Patriots fan, so when they both made it to the Superbowl, the proverbial “It” was on. The two took to Twitter to begin the trash-talk and soon made a bet. The stakes: should the Seahawks win, Chris Evans was to visit the Seattle Children’s Hospital dressed as Captain America and if the Patriots won, Chris Pratt visits Christopher’s Haven in Massachusetts as Star-Lord in a Brady jersey:
For those unfamiliar, Christopher’s Haven provides a home in Boston for families of children with cancer who must travel for treatment.
Executive Director, Joyce Duvall said of the new attention, “The phone’s ringing off the hook – twitter’s going crazy, I can’t keep up with the emails.” Duvall said their website even crashed at one point because of all the hits.
In the end, the Patriots won. But Chris Evans confirmed on his Twitter Sunday that Cap and Star-Lord will be visiting both the Seattle Children’s Hospital and Christopher’s Haven because they’re superheroes…and that’s what superheroes do.
