Chris Rock to Host Saturday Night Live

Chris Rock will kick off the newest season of SNL in October! He will host the episode, which will feature musical guest Prince.

Continuing what is turning into their strongest season yet, Saturday Night Live has booked Chris Rock to host the first show in November.

Rock, who was a castmember of the show between 1990 and 1993, will make his second hosting appearance, having previously hosted 18 years ago in 1996. Rock was only a castmember for three seasons, but made a big impact, and while he may not be considered one of the greatest castmembers of all time (how could you be when you were in a cast that included Dana Carvey, Mike Myers, Jon Lovitz, and the late Jan Hooks and Phil Hartman?), but the show did serve as a springboard for Rock to go onto bigger, much more successful projects that made him one of the greatest comedians working today, allowing him to make considerable wealth, gain much fame, and even host the Academy Awards

The musical guest for the episode will be someone equally as influential as Rock – Prince will be serving as the musical guest for the third time, previously appearing in 1981 and 2006. He will be promoting his two latest albums, Plectrumelectrum and Art Official Age.

Saturday Night Live is on a break this week, but will return on the 25th of October with host Jim Carrey and musical guest Iggy Azalea, and will be followed the next week with Chris Rock and Prince.
