Chrissy Teigen gave birth, on Thursday April 14th, to a healthy baby girl. Teigen and husband, John Legend, have named the baby Luna Simone Stephens.
Both Teigen and Legend announced the birth of their daughter in social media.
“She’s here! Luna Simone Stephens, we are so in love with you! And sleepy. Very sleepy.” Teigen wrote on Instagram accompanying the announcement with a picture of Luna’s 6lb 11oz weight.
She also jokingly tweeted: “to everyone asking, john is healing perfectly.” And lastly, “thank you for all the well wishes!!! we are so happy and excited! i dunno what to tweet now. does my twitter change? this is so awkward.”
Legend, for his part, took to Twitter on Sunday, “Our new love is here! Luna Simone Stephens, born on Thursday, the 14th. We couldn’t be happier!”
The supermodel and Lip Sync Battle co-host first shared she was pregnant on October 2015, via Instagram, with a picture of herself and John Legend – sweetly touching her belly – with the following caption:
“John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant 🙂 As many of you know, we’ve been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn’t been easy, but we kept trying because we can’t wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We’re so excited that it’s finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching! Xx”
Teigen, who has been very open about their struggle with infertility, has shared that she and Legend – who married in September 14, 2013 – want a big family, stating that she hopes to be pregnant all through her 30s. She voiced this in an interview with Self Magazine, saying, “I’ve always pictured everyone around the table for the holidays and together once a week. It’ll be heartbreaking if it doesn’t end up happening, but hopefully it will. We’ve got some embryos on hold.”
Hopefully Luna will be a big sister soon enough, but for now we are sure she’ll have all the attention of everyone in the Legend household. Congratulations!
