The Coen Brothers’ Hollywood Satire ‘Hail, Caesar!’ Gets A Release Date

The Coen Brothers’ new film, ‘Hail, Caesar!’, is set for a February 5, 2016 release date. The film is based on the life of Eddie Mannix.

Great news for cinephiles and movie fans – via Entertainment Weekly, filmmaking icons Joel and Ethan Coen have announced that their next project has a release date!

The film, entitled Hail, Caesar!, is set for a February 5, 2016 release. Hail, Caesar! is based on the life of Eddie Mannix, the notorious Hollywood studio executive and fixer who reigned during the 1950s.

Mannix will be portrayed by two-time Academy Award winner George Clooney, while the ensemble cast is filled with a number of other highly acclaimed and iconic actors. This is Clooney’s fourth collaboration with the Coen Brothers, following O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Intolerable Cruelty and Burn After Reading. Josh Brolin, Tilda Swinton, Channing Tatum, Scarlett Johansson, Ralph Fiennes and Jonah Hill have all been cast in supporting roles in the film, as well.

This release date means we will see it sooner rather than later, as the brothers often release their films in December. However, the early release date may hurt the film’s chances of winning any major awards, as voters very rarely remember films released in the first quarter of the year.
