Community Gets Animated In The New Trailer For Their Season Return

Welcome Greendale Human Beings to the latest and no doubt weirdest Community trailer I have ever seen.

Weird is something that the Study Group do often and do well. We’ve had Study Group puppets, the Study Group inside a video game and even a Christmas episode complete with stop motion claymation. So it should really come as no surprise that this trailer is animated. Yep, animated.

Things start off ok. Jeff walks into his apartment, grabs a drink and checks his messages as he stares out the window. But that’s where the normality comes to a screeching halt because flying through the window comes Dean Pelton dressed as Santa, complete with sleigh and Chang for a Rudolph.

Santa, I’m sorry, the Dean, then tells Jeff he is going to shower him with gifts because he’s been “good” this year and out of Santa’s sack appear Annie, Troy, Abed, Britta, Shirley and… wait, no, that’s it.

The Study Group tell Jeff they miss him and they should make plans to see each other more often as soon as the holidays are over, “A week after Christmas, like literally the day after New Year’s” (hint, hint). Jeff comments that the Olympics are on this year, but never fear Annie has the solution and begins to make the schedule. They can meet for a full hour on January 2nd, then 30 minutes a week for the following four weeks, then Olympics, Olympics, Olympics. But after that, they can be a family again (see what they did there?).

Then Troy opens his mouth to speak, and that where things get really really weird. But I’ll let you watch and see that for yourself.
