Cool. Cool, cool, cool.
Mark your calendars folks, as March 17th is your chance to watch the goings-on of the Greendale gang once more.
And like the best things in life, it’s completely free.
Yes, Community, the little critically-adored-show-that-could has survived for a sixth season, which will air this spring on Yahoo. Creator Dan Harmon announced it on Twitter today (Feb. 7):
Hey, you know Season 6 will be FREE, right?
March 17 on @YahooScreen. #CommunityLivesOn
— Community (@CommunityTV) February 7, 2015
The show stars Joel McHale (The Soup), Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Ken Jeong, Dani Pudi, and Jim Rash—an ensemble cast made from the particles of dreams. Previously aired on NBC, the show was cancelled after five seasons, amid upheaval with the network when show runner Dan Harmon was famously replaced and then asked to return after just one season. Original cast members Donald Glover, Chevy Chase, and Yvette Nicole Brown will not be returning for the new season. However, the show has received a new lease of life with Yahoo after its cancellation last year.
Like a phoenix, we believe it will rise from the ashes and be the show we know and love.
And the best news: It’s completely free to stream.
Which just begs the question: Six seasons and a movie?
Only time will tell.
So, Popwrappers, thoughts? Will you be eagerly awaiting the new season?
