Have you ever seen Jaws, Star Wars, War Horse, or Indiana Jones? Well, then chances are you have heard this man’s music! The man behind the infamous movie themes and beautifully composed soundtracks is 82-year-old John Williams.
With his 49th Academy Award nomination this year for The Book Thief, Williams became the most Oscar nominated man alive, only second ever behind Walt Disney, who holds 59 nominations.
With such a diverse array of movie genres, one may ask, how does a composer balance and shift back and forth so frequently?
“I’ve always felt there is more music in trees than anywhere else.” Williams said in a recent interview.
If Williams wins this upcoming Sunday, it will be his sixth Oscar win. But win or lose, it is fair to say we will see much more of John Williams in our near future.
