Late night funny man Conan O’Brien has been announced as this year’s host for the MTV Movie Awards.
This will mark his first time as host for MTV, but he has plenty of experience hosting in the awards show realm, as he hosted the Emmy’s in 2003 and 2006.
O’Brien jokingly made a statement about hosting:
“After eight years of intense negations, I am honored to announce I am hosting MTV’s second most prestigious awards show.”
The bar has been set high for hosts so far this year–first with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosting the Golden Globes, and, more recently, Ellen’s great performance at the Oscars, but it’s not hard to imagine Team Coco fans campaigning for Conan to host more award shows if this turns out to be a success.
