Twitter let out a collective squee around the world today as Netflix officially announced the return of Milo Ventimiglia to the Gilmore Girls revival. Ventimiglia played the character of Jess Mariano, the moody, trouble-prone, teen-aged love interest for Rory from 2001 – 2006. His last appearance was a bit of a heart-breaker for Team Jess fans when Rory ended up visiting him only in an attempt to hurt her then-boyfriend, Logan.
Netflix confirmed the star’s return in a tweet along with Liza Weil (Paris Gellar), Matt Czuchry (Logan) and Yanic Truesdale (Michel).

An official release date has yet to be announced as casting news and other details continue to be revealed. Suffice it to say, excitement is still going strong for the revival.
Now that Jess and Logan have both been confirmed as coming back, the only hold-out we have left is Rory’s first love, Dean played by Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki. As fans continue to hold their breath in eager anticipation of more casting details, they can now get back to their favorite debate: Dean, Jess, Logan or…maybe someone new?
