Over three months ago, Michael Schumacher was involved in a freak skiing accident at the French Alps resort of Meribel, which caused severe head trauma. Since the accident, Schumacher has been in a medically induced coma, but has shown “moments of consciousness and awakening”, his agent stated on Friday.
There have been very negative reports and his agent, Sabine Kehm, gave an update to give the real story.
“Michael is making progress on his way, he shows moments of consciousness and awakening,” said Kehm. “We are on his side during his long and difficult fight, together with the team of the hospital in Grenoble, and we keep remaining confident.”
However, his former doctor said something different.
“As time goes on, it becomes less and less likely that Michael will emerge to any significant form extent,” Dr. Gary Hartstein said in a March 24 blog post. He also explained that the “longer one remains in a vegetative state, the less the likelihood of emerging…”
The family has asked for privacy as the investigation of the tragic accident is ongoing, but it is known that speed was not the cause of the accident.
With the world watching, it is apparent that his team and family are standing behind the Formula 1 world champion and supporting him as most would do.
We here at PopWrapped can only hope that Schumacher makes a speedy recovery!
