Actor Corey Feldman has been arrested with drug charges just days after he tweeted out plans to shed some light on the alleged sexual abuse of young actors in Hollywood.
The former 80’s child star was charged with one count of marijuana possession and a traffic violation after being arrested by officers of the Mangham Police Department of Richland Parish, Louisiana on Saturday.
According to the Mangham Police Chief, Perry Fleming, the charge is a misdemeanor that only requires the payment of a fine. Feldman was released without being booked into the police jail.
The actor and musician was due to perform at the Live Oaks Bar and Ballroom on Monroe that night, but his concert was cancelled after the arrest was made. However, he did participate in a fan meet and greet at the venue.
The incident comes a couple of days after Corey Feldman posted a series of tweets, unveiling a plan that will shed some light on the sex abuse that he and other young actors have suffered through their years working in Hollywood.
Writing in all caps, Feldman stated that he will not be going on talk shows to name his abusers or anyone else’s abusers. But he made it clear that he was not doing so in order to protect his family.

Of course this is not the first time Feldman has spoken out about his alleged sexual abuse, and he mentions how coming forward in the past has taken its toll on his career. But after the fallout of the Weinstein scandal, the actor may be hopeful that he will be listened to this time.

In his tweets, he also revealed that he has a plan on shedding a light on this situation, while figuring a way for him to get justice from his alleged abusers.

Feldman for years has held to his story that he and his best friend and fellow child star Corey Haim were sexually abused. During the height of their fame, the two were often referred to as the “two Coreys” and appeared as a duo on several films. Feldman has blamed the sexual abuse his friend suffered as the underlying cause of Haim’s descent and eventual demise in 2010.
