Get ready loyal Firefly fans; we could be getting our overdue second season.
Well, possibly. Tim Minear, former writer and producer, mentioned a reboot of Firefly eight years ago to no avail. But in a recent interview, Minear was not opposed to the idea.
“I would never foreclose the possibility. The fact that it was even a feature film after it spectacularly failed on FOX was a miracle. And of course it lives on in other forms. In terms of getting the band back together to make a new adventure, who knows? I would love it. It would be great. But first everybody has their respective projects that limits them from crossing over into other things. It’s just trying to coordinate everybody’s obligations so they could somehow participate.”
While the availability of the cast might cause the main issue in a Firefly reboot; the popularity could be another issue. While there are many loyal fans, the reintroduction might cause an issue for those new to the show.
In the interview, Minear hinted on the possibility of a Netflix partnership, which would be ideal considering viewers can watch the first season on Netflix instant stream.
What do you think loyal browncoats? Do you want another season of Firefly?
