Could It Be “Super” Man From U.N.C.L.E.?

Not content with helping to resurrect the Superman franchise, it looks like Henry Cavill could be the saviour of the rumoured film remake of a 1970’s TV classic. The Man from U.N.C.L.E  starred Robert Vaughn and current NCIS favourite David McCallum.

The film, which is due to enter production later this year, was originally meant to have Tom Cruise in the starring role, however due to him signing up to do yet another Mission Impossible film, he is unable to commit the project – which leaves  the role up for grabs.

Cavill was apparently in the running for the role filled by Armie Hammer and would be joining Hammer as one of the titular agents from the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement (U.N.C.L.E).  Guy Ritchie is still apparently on board as the film’s director.

I for one just hope that we get a little tongue in cheek cameo from the original Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin (Vaughn and McCallum) as they are both still with us and still acting.
