Daniel Craig Confirmed For ‘Bond 25’ And A 2019 Release

It looks like James Bond will return in 2019, with Daniel Craig on board for his fifth outing as the suave, secret agent 007.

“The name’s Bond… James Bond.” Bond 25 is on its way! According to The Wrap, Daniel Craig is indeed confirmed to return for the next untitled 007 film, hitting theatres on November 8, 2019!

This will be four years after the most recent Bond film, Spectre (2015), and after the rumors, speculation, and various comments made by Daniel Craig and the Bond film producers, it seems that they finally came to an agreement. Barbara Broccoli, who has served as a 007 producer and associate producer since Timothy Dalton’s The Living Daylights (1987), and daughter of James Bond filmmakers Albert R. “Cubby” Broccoli and Dana Broccoli, as well as Michael G. Wilson, who has served as a 007 writer, executive producer, and producer since Roger Moore’s Moonraker (1979), will both be returning once again to produce the upcoming movie.

Craig Is The Best Bond

For a while it seemed almost too much to hope for that Daniel Craig would return to the role (despite his five-film contract deal), people like Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba already being suggested for future Bond replacements. Craig was obviously and understandably burned out after the intense filming of Spectre, but now it appears he is ready to go into the suit at least one more time. This news should please devoted as well as casual Bond fans, as Daniel Craig is widely regarded as one of the best Bonds we have ever had. As a huge Bond fan, I am ecstatic, and maybe if this is Craig’s last go at the character, he will bring even more to the table knowing it might be his final outing and tribute to the world of 007. Given his past Bond performances, we should have nothing to worry about. It will be interesting to see with how Spectre concluded how Bond comes back into the spy game for this next film. Regardless, we are so excited to be getting another Bond film, which might have been inevitable, but securing Daniel Craig certainly wasn’t, and now we can’t wait until 2019.

Along with the title, Bond 25‘s cast and director have yet to be revealed, but it can’t be too long before we hear some of these updates of information soon, as shooting will need to start fairly soon if a fall 2019 release is the goal. However, we do know that Neal Purvis and Robert Wade will be penning the script, who are a veteran Bond team of screenwriters of Pierce Brosnan’s The World is Not Enough (1999) and Die Another Day (2002), and Daniel Craig’s Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), and most recently, Spectre.

25 Bond movies

Back in 2012, Skyfall marked 50 years of James Bond, and when this film comes out in 2019, it will obviously be the 25th official James Bond film overall (how did that happen?), quite a milestone itself, in arguably the most successful film series of all time. Maybe the filmmakers will have something big planned for the film or for promoting the film to celebrate. We hope so!

Until 2019, you can see a very different Daniel Craig as con man Joe Bang in next month’s sure-to-be-summer-hit directed by Ocean’s 11’s (2001) Steven Soderbergh, Logan Lucky (2017), alongside Adam Driver, Channing Tatum, Riley Keough, and many others.
