Our current Bond, James Bond seems ready to put the martini glass back on the shelf and give up his spy lifestyle. Daniel Craig has been openly vocal about his need to be done playing 007.
Craig was recently interview by Red Bulletin, and they asked if we can learn anything from James Bond. Craig answered with a simple “nothing.’ Wow, so I guess we should get spy training elsewhere — but maybe that’s not what Craig was referring to.
Here’s more of what he said about Bond: “[L]et’s not forget that he’s actually a misogynist.” Craig went on to say that his films have less of that prejudice because of the strong female characters playing opposite him.
Craig does make a good point, though. The Bond of Connery’s time was certainly not the nicest guy to women, as he pretty much just used them. There’s no real James Bond love story until we reach the Daniel Craig films, which inspired Nick Jonas to write one of his songs ‘Vesper’s Goodbye’.
