Daniel Radcliffe Says It Is Time For A Break

There aren’t many of us who could work for 13 solid years without needing a break, and Daniel Radcliffe is no exception.

The 24 year old actor has been a screen and stage fixture in most of our lives since Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone came out in 2001; not only as The Boy Who Lived himself, but in a plethora of well received films and stage plays. Really, it should come as no surprise that, following his successful run in The Cripple Of Inishmaan in London’s West End, Dan Rad has decided to take a break.

For a few weeks anyway.

As a self-proclaimed “workaholic,” Dan told the Daily Star, “I do need a break – doing Cripple was amazing but the last month was slightly exhausting.”

Not that he’ll be idle for long. The actor has two films due for release later this year – quirky and dark Horns, and the critically lauded Kill Your Darlings. He’s also recently been filming for the second series of Sky Arts’ The Young Doctors Notebook, and has been cast as Igor in the forthcoming Frankenstein adaptation.

But for now, Dan is taking a time out. In the Star interview with James Ingham, he revealed his plans:

“I’ve got three weeks off in October and I’m going to bum around New York and see some shows.”
