Pop icon David Bowie has recently teased an upcoming announcement.
On his official Facebook page, the 66-year-old superstar uploaded a promotional photograph, shot by Jimmy King. The picture shows Bowie holding a golden mirror that shows his reflection looking straight at him, even though he is not looking into the mirror. The plain grey background appears to leave all of the focus on Bowie.
The legendary musician accompanied the photo with a quote from his classic hit ‘Moonage Daydream’ writing, “Keep your ‘lectric eye on me babe…” and also added, “Good news coming.”
A selection of brand new songs from his upcoming The Next Day Extra were premiered on UK radio on October 30 with the standard edition of The Next Day being nominated for the Barclaycard Mercury Prize this year.
Digital Spy readers also named it the album they’d most like to see win the Mercury Music Prize this year in a poll. A 10-minute re-work of ‘Love Is Lost’ by LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy premiered during the Mercury Music Prize show on More 4 in the UK accompanied by a music video.
