Singer/songwriter David Gray kicked off his summer 2014 North American tour in support of his latest album, Mutineers, on August 1 in Boston, Massachusetts. The tour has U.S. stops coast-to-coast, and will visit multiple Canadian cities before wrapping in St. Louis, Missouri on October 17.
Mutineers is a departure from Gray’s prior albums, while still giving homage to his musical past.
“You sort of have to tear up the past and let it go,” he states.
The album took Gray out of his comfort zone and into what he calls “the ethereal”. Reviews for the album are overwhelmingly positive, with comments like “There’s a rare comfort in hearing an artist in pursuit of joy” and “If he’s touring in your city try your best to score a ticket”.
