Recovering from the distributing fiasco that occurred with their 3 Feet High and Rising album, De La Soul is back with some fresh tracks and hopefully a much better system. You can download these songs via BitTorrent, a program which is easily downloadable from their website, and get the their album Smell the Da. I. S. Y. (which stands for Da Inner Soul of Yancy). But this album doesn’t just contain new songs. It’s more of a collection of a capellas with some old beats from J. Dilla.
All downloads come with some neat bonuses: a J. Dilla documentary, “wallpapers,” and an “audio letter”. I’m not entirely sure how one composes an audio letter but I’m definitely intrigued. You get all this plus the 11 album tracks in a bundle through BitTorrent for free.
