The X-Factor judge, Demi Lovato, has given her notice of leave after two seasons. The popular singer and actress, who recently recorded a song for Disney’s Frozen, has decided to develop her own work for the time being.
Sources reported to People.com about the singer’s decision, while Fox declined to comment.
“She plans to spend next year completely focused on her music. She had a great run and a good time.”
While Lovato’s leaving has nothing to do with the show itself, The X-Factor may not survive long enough to see season 4. The show’s ratings have been on the decline for a while now, even when the actress sat in one of the judge chairs.
Simon Cowell, executive producer and star of The X-Factor, assures fans and viewers otherwise.
He says, “The show will be back next season.” Cowell has also hinted in previous interviews at a possible new role for him on the show. What could it possibly be?
“[It’s] got to be more different next year than it was this year. [I’m in] the middle of a presentation of what we think the show should look like and what the fans would like. And yes, my role could change.”
Could Cowell’s new role be linked to Lovato’s resignation? The executive producer has been hinting at his change on the show for a while, so we doubt it. But it certainly looks like something big is happening!
While she will be missed on the show, we’re sure to hear more from Demi Lovato in the future.
