Do you miss “Desperate Housewives” as much as we do? If so, you might want to tune in to Lifetime this summer! Marc Cherry, the man behind the long-running ABC series, is coming out with what will by all accounts be an equally saucy new show called “Devious Maids”.  By all accounts the series will be exactly what the title suggests – another outrageous series about a group of witty ladies, only this time they aren’t neighbors!

“Devious Maids” is based on a telenovela entitled “Ellas son la Alegria de Hogar”, which loosely translates to “They are the Joy of the Home”. The show is described as the “upstairs – downstairs” story of maids working for the wealthy, all of whom are “as clever, witty, outrageous, and downright devilish as their employers.” Similar to “Desperate Housewives”, the pilot episode features a mysterious death – a maid is discovered to have been murdered at an exclusive society event.

“Devious Maids” is also being executive produced by “Desperate Housewives” alum Eva Longoria. It stars Ana Ortiz (“Ugly Betty”), Roselyn Sanchez (“Without a Trace”), Edy Ganem (“Livin’ Loud”) and Judy Reyes (“Scrubs”). Reyes will, in fact, be playing the maid of none other than legendary soap star Susan Lucci!

Tune into Lifetime for the series premiere of “Devious Maids” on June 23 at 10PM EST!
