Dianna Agron Set To Take On A “Much More Aggressive” Role In A Conspiracy Of Jekyll Island

Dianna Agron announced her next film on twitter yesterday and it looks like she’ll be taking on yet another new film genre, this time a “financial indie thriller”. The film is called A Conspiracy of Jekyll Island and the script was developed and written with The Butler producer, Hilary Shor, and Syrup writer/director, Aram Rappaport. Rappaport will be directing this film as well.

The film story is about an ex-Wall Street man, played by Frank Grillo, who is enlisted by the Secretary of Treasury to save the American economy from a cyber attack. With the help of his wife he recruits a rag tag team of misfits, and prepares to save the world from total financial implosion.

Based on the title of the film it’s been inferred that the film might have some connection to the real life conspiracy that’s linked to a secret meeting U.S. Senators had with Wall Street bigwigs on the Georgian resort island Jekyll Island in the year 1910.

According to some research done by Empireonline they’ve found out that Jekyll Island is actually the location for the meeting between banking leaders and politicians that led to the creation of the Federal Reserve, and not some spooky island with scientists inventing dangerous formulas and such like some might have thought. This revelation would totally make sense with why the film has its name.

There has been no news on what role Agron will have in the film but based on the film’s summary one would probably assume that she would be one of the members of the rag tag team that Grillo’s character recruits.

Besides Agron and Grillo the film is also set to star Minnie Driver, Maggie Q, John Leguizamo, and Ed Westwick.  Production for the film is set to start next month, November, and based on an interview Agron did while promoting her film The Family its looks like it might be filming in Chicago.

During another interview Agron mentioned that the role was “much more aggressive” than her past roles.

It sounds like an interesting new role for Agron and we cannot wait to see what she’ll be doing in this new film!
