For many, the Super Bowl is as much about the adverts as it is the football.

And for some, there was no advert more anticipated than the first trailer for the fourth film in the Transformers franchise, Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Set for release in the summer, preview clips for the film have been clutched tightly to the chest of the studio, with few images released.

Until now, that is.

The 30-second trailer gives us the first glimpse of Mark Wahlberg in action as the franchise’s newest recruit, following Shia LaBeouf’s departure from the lead role, and is every bit as action packed as you would expect from a Michael Bay film.

But Wahlberg’s not the only exciting new addition.

Something that makes even Optimus Prime look small.

Dinobots.

The reveal of these new, dinosaur shaped machines, comes as a delight to fans of the original animated series.

Empire Magazine described the appearance of the Dinobots in the trailer as making them “feel six again.”

For those of us who are only familiar with Bay’s film franchise, the Dinobots look to add a great big element of fun and freshness to the films, and guarantee to up the action ante.

What do you think, PopWrappers?

Is there anything cooler than the image of Optimus Prime atop a giant mechanical dinosaur?

Watch Transformers: Age of Extinction in theaters on June 27.
