Grammy®- nominated recording artist Carly Rae Jepsen has teamed up with The Walt Disney Studios to record a new version of The Little Mermaid’s beloved song “Part of Your World”, which will appear as a music video on the upcoming Diamond Edition Blu-Ray™ Combo Pack release of the animated classic.

“Part of Your World” was written by composer Alan Menken and lyricist Howard Ashman and originally recorded for the movie by American actress and singer Jodi Benson, who also gave voice to Disney’s titular underwater princess, Ariel.  The song is a Broadway-style ballad in which young heroine Ariel expresses her desire to be part of the human world.

The film went on to win two Academy Award® statuettes including Best Original Song for “Under The Sea” and Best Original Score.  We all loved this enduring tale of this lovable mermaid, her best friend- the adorable Flounder and the reggae-singing Caribbean crab Sebastian out to save her father’s beloved kingdom from the sneaky witch Ursula.

Canadian breakout pop sensation Carly Rae Jepsen burst into the scene with her global smash hit, “Call Me Maybe” which held the Number 1 Spot on Billboard Hot 100 chart for nine consecutive weeks and rose to top of the iTunes singles charts in more than 47 countries. Here’s hoping she can acclaim to dazzle our world again with the exciting new rendition of the classic ballad from this animated film.

Scheduled to be release October 1st, the Diamond Edition Blu-Ray™ Combo Pack includes tons of amazing bonus feature treasures where fans will enjoy the film in high definition Blu-Ray 3D™, Blu-Ray and High Definition Digital platforms.
