For those of you waiting ever so patiently to see Captain Jack Sparrow in action once again, unfortunately, you are going to have to wait a little bit longer.
Disney announced on Tuesday that Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales release has been delayed from July 10, 2015 to the summer of 2016.
Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of the film, told The Hollywood Reporter that there were issues with the script that needed fixing.
“We have an outline everyone loves but the script is not done,” Bruckheimer said on the progress of the new script.
Money was also part of the equation, Bruckheimer revealed, “It’s all a factor. We want a script that everyone’s signed off on and a budget that everyone’s signed off on.”
In an statement given to Deadline, the production president at Disney, Sean Bailey said:
“Like audiences around the globe, we have high expectations for Jack Sparrow’s next adventure and we want to have all the right elements in place. We’re not there yet and we want to make sure this project is everything these wonderful characters and of course the fans deserve.”
What do you think about Disney’s decision to delay Pirates of the Caribbean 5?
