Disney released today the first poster for Muppets Most Wanted, the long awaited sequel to the 2011 film The Muppets.
All our beloved Muppet pals are there; Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Animal, Kermit, Walter, Beaker, Fozzie Bear, Kermit… wait, what?
No, you’re not seeing things. There is indeed two Kermit’s on the poster! But look closely and you’ll realise that one is not quite like the other, and from the Dr. Evil-esque look about him, I’d say he’s up to no good.
That’s not Kermit in the foreground. No it’s not our beloved Kermit, instead that’s his mysterious doppelganger, and the world’s number one criminal, Constantine. Constantine and his dastardly sidekick Dominic (Ricky Gervais) plot to steal an enormous diamond.
While the Muppets are on a headlining tour of Europe, poor Kermit gets thrown into prison when he is mistakenly identified as the villainous Constantine.
Meanwhile, Constantine tries to blend in with the rest of the Muppets as they travel from city to city… But will he get away with it?
Also starring in the film (in human form) is Ty Burrell as an Interpol Agent and Tina Fey as a Russian prison guard.
Muppets Most Wanted is expected to open in theatres March 1, 2014.
