We love to hate Disney villains. Ever since they first graced our cinema screens with their evil plots and dark throaty cackles, we have enjoyed the sight of our favorite Disney heroes bringing them down in the end.
But recently with television shows like Once Upon A Time and films like Maleficent, there seems to be a trend towards presenting villains in a different light. Most of the time they are still evil, but at the very least, we get to see their points of view, and still be entertained at the same time.
This idea was not lost on the YouTube channel Oh My Disney, which has decided to create a music video starring many of the Disney Villains who haunted our childhood. Using the tune of One Republic’s hit Counting Stars , the song reflects on how hard it is to be evil, trying to climb the ladder of success when you are counting scars from all your failures.
Think of how frustrating it might be to spend years meticulously planning, only to be foiled by foolish things like true love, friendship, or luck. It kind of makes you feel sorry for them. Watch their performance below and try loving them for a few moments. You can hate them again later.
