Fans of Doctor Who have been given a little gift from the BBC, no not a trailer with footage from the 50th– that’s absurd, some behind-the-scene shots of the stunning Doctor Who: 50Years’ teaser trailer.

The teaser trailer all but rendered the internet immobile last Saturday and sent the majority of fans into a ‘freeze-framing’ frenzy that has finally started to wane as we’ve gleaned as much as we possibly can from it

The shot of 76 Totter’s Lane, where the Doctor, and fans, first laid eyes on the TARDIS in 1963, leads us into lovely shots showing how they took us on a lovely trip through the Doctor’s past with numerous props and stand-ins of look-a-like Doctors and our favourite Whoniverse villains.

There’s an ‘Affirmative’shot of our beloved K-9, along with Sara Jane’s toy owl. A shot of the uncanny look-a-like of the late first Doctor, William Hartnell, as he gets ready to be filmed from the back really emphasizes how well the teaser was choreographed as a number of stand-ins were employed to bring past versions of the Doctor to life- or rather transport fans back in time. There’s a Tom Baker look-a-like setting up for a shot with an amazing replica of his famous long scarf specially made for the trailer and a Colin Baker stand-in facing off against Daleks. In another shot a 1980s-style Cyberman waits for his cue, so retro!

The shots are stunning and really showcases the amount of work that went into making the one-minute peek into 50 years of awesome.
