The enormous 12-day Doctor Who tour has come to a close in Rio de Janeiro!
The team of Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman and, occasionally, Steven Moffat, visited five continents in just twelve days, crossing timezones and date lines in the process. Probably nothing new to time travelers, though.
Over 11,000 fans saw “Deep Breath” before the official airing on August 23, and were able to put their questions to the new Doctor and his companion, with the TARDIS stopping off in Cardiff, London, Seoul, Sydney, New York, Mexico City and Rio de Janeiro.
They notched up over 35,000 miles in total, taking in famous landmarks such as Cardiff Castle, Christ the Redeemer, and Sydney’s Harbour Bridge.
With all this publicity, it’s likely that the series opener is going to be one to remember.
Tune into BBC One on August 23 at 7:50 pm.
