Dominic Cooper Says There’s Talk Of A Third Season For Agent Carter At SDCC

During a Friday panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Dominic Cooper told Agent Carter fans there’s talk of a third season of the show due to fan demand!

Agent Carter fans exploded with excitement Friday when actor Dominic Cooper reported there were talks about another season of the canceled show due to fan demand. During an EW Brave New Warriors panel, Cooper fielded questions alongside Josh Holloway (Colony), Eric Dane (The Last Ship), and Theo Rossi (Luke Cage). Dominic Cooper played genius billionaire playboy Howard Stark for two seasons in Agent Carter and in Captain America: The First Avenger. When asked if he would play Howard again, Cooper responded,

Absolutely, I have so much fun doing that show with Hayley Atwell and James [D’Arcy]. I don’t know what they’re doing with it, but there’s been talk because the fans seem to really want it and there’s a petition to get it back. I don’t know what it’s doing, but I would jump at the chance of playing him again. He’s great. I have excellent fun playing him. It was very different from doing The Preacher as well.

Agent Carter was canceled by ABC after only two seasons and the fans have not taken it lying down. Soon after word broke of the cancellation, a petition popped up on Change.org making a plea to Netflix to pick the show up for another season. The petition has gained nearly 128,000 signatures and fan support is loud and proud all over social media with weekly viewing parties and live tweets of the show.

Since the show’s cancellation, Cooper is starring in the AMC drama, Preacher and Hayley Atwell can be seen this fall in ABC’s new procedural, Conviction. In spite of busy schedules, cast and crew have been very vocal about their enthusiasm for Agent Carter as well as their desire to return for more. Back in May, Hayley Atwell spoke at a panel during MegaCon in Orlando, Florida about whether or not she would return to the role of Peggy saying, “Yes, 100%. I love Peggy. I love the people working on this project. [It would be] a privilege and an honor to bring her back to the fans. I’d shoot on the weekends. Blue serum. Whatever it takes.”

The idea of Agent Carter making the jump to Netflix certainly isn’t that far-fetched. With so many other Marvel properties finding homes with the streaming giant, Agent Carter seems like a natural fit. If you want to see another season of Agent Carter, make sure to drop a line to Netflix and let them know!
