Rihanna is going to be one very busy bee this year.
The singer announced earlier this year in January that she was planning her 8th studio album, this news coming after her label switch from Island Def Jam to Def Jam. Rihanna reportedly decided to leave the newly made “stand-alone label” and move to the new version of Def Jam that “serves artists with the singularity of vision, focus and creativity”.
With a new label comes new producers as well! DJ Mustard, David Guetta, Alex Da Kid, and Nicky Romero have all been working on the new album.
It was also announced on April 1st that Rihanna is planning a concept album based on the new DreamWorks 3D animated movie Home. The film is an adaptation of a children’s book by Adam Rex called The True Meaning of Smekday. RiRi will be lending her voice to the character of Tip, a teenage girl.
Jim Parson, Jennifer Lopez, and Steve Martin will also star in the film.
Fans are patiently waiting for these albums, given that it’s been 2 years since Rihanna’s Unapologetic album.
We all can’t wait to get some new RiRi music into our ears!
