Downton Abbey is ending. The beloved series, which gave us a glimpse of the life of early 20th century British aristocrats and their servants, will air its final season next year.
While we mourn the eventual loss of not seeing that wonderful , beautiful manor house in a new episode, or ever hearing another wonderful quip from the Dowager Countess again, let us ease our pain by speculating on what our favorite characters would end up doing, and let us hope that the writers will not end up adding any more Matthews or Sybils because, after all, this is Downton Abbey and not Game of Thrones.
While we ponder on that, the cast of the series itself has decided to share what their ideal endings for the characters they play might be. All of which sounds good – from Hugh Bonneville stating that he wants Lord Grantham to end up taking Lady Cora away to the Riviera, to Rob James-Collier saying that he wants Thomas to finally find love.
