Dan Stevens, star of Downton Abbey, has landed a role in the cast of Night at the Museum 3. Stevens will be playing Sir Lancelot in the film, which will be set in London.
Ben Stiller will return to play security guard Larry Daley while Robin Williams will be returning as Teddy Roosevelt. Shawn Levy, director of the last two films, is expected to take on his directing role once again. Production of Night at the Museum 3 is expected to begin by early next year.
So far, Stevens has had a productive year in the acting industry. In addition to leaving his role as Matthew Crawley in Downton Abbey, he recently appeared in The Fifth Estate and has two other movies lined up: Adam Wingard’s The Guest, and A Walk Among the Tombstones with Liam Neeson.
Meanwhile, Shawn Levy has completed filming his dramedy This Is Where I Leave You that features an all-star cast including Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Adam Driver, Jane Fonda, Rose Byrne, and more. He also just finished working on the film adaptation of the children’s book Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, which will star Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner.
