The Wolfman will soon be coming to an NBC channel near you.
In what is set to become Friday Fright Night, NBC is to develop a television series based on the 2010 The Wolfman film starring Benicio Del Toro as the Shakepearean actor turned werewolf. NBC is looking at pairing the new series with Grimm in the slot currently held by Dracula.
Deadline reports that Dracula’s executive producer and head writer, Daniel Knauf will helm the project. The development is part of the company’s 3-for-1 telenovela deal and is expected to be greenlighted for 13 episodes.
The series is described as “a supernatural thriller that explores what it means to be a man and to be human. It centers on Lawrence Talbot, who is afflicted by an ancient curse and jacks into the powerful, primordial soul of the alpha-predator”.
