DRAMAtical Murder, based on Nitro+CHiRAL’s hugely popular boys-love PC game of the same name, has been licensed by Sentai Filmworks for digital and home-video release. Sentai did not specify a release date for the anime adaptation.
The games and anime revolve around Aoba, a young man who lives with his grandmother in a society that’s caught up in gang-turf wars and a popular online virtual reality game called Rhyme. Aoba has no interest in gangs or virtual games and prefers a life of peace and quiet. Aoba’s normal, peaceful life is disrupted when he’s forced into a Rhyme battle by an unknown individual. This one “accident” turns Aoba’s life upside down, leading him to embark on a dangerous journey. He’s joined by childhood friend Koujaku, the quirky gas-mask wearing Clear, skilled hacker Noiz and the dangerous Mink.
I am a huge fan of the games and yet I have not seen a single episode of the anime and now I have another reason to do so. It’s unclear as to if whether or not Sentai will dub DRAMAtical Murder; I’m leaning towards them just releasing the 12-episode series with English-subtitles only.
