Mirror’s Edge was one heck of a killer-app on the PS3 and Xbox 360 back in their heyday.
Wildly acclaimed and spectacularly visionary, the title approached what made a first-person action game a first-person action game and flipped it right on its head, invoking parkour and beat-‘em up elements like the gaming world had never quite seen before.
Much to gamers’ delight around the world, EA revealed today that Mirror’s Edge will be receiving a sequel!
Adequately entitled Mirror’s Edge 2, the title’s release date is set to be announced at a later date; but in the meantime, the game-play trailer provided below is more than enough to help us through what’s sure to be long wait.
In the video, not only does protagonist Faith get a sleek and efficient outfit upgrade, but the game-play in general is notably slicker than in the past title. Faith can now pretty much beat enemies down without stopping to engage them in a fight, making for a more seamless game-play experience than ever before and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!
