Remember that super-secret Wii U leak that we were teasing a few days back?
Turns out it was true.
Meet Mario Maker. In it, you’ll be able to create your own custom Super Mario Bros. levels and essentially design your own Mario game from the ground up!
In its official reveal trailer, you could customize your game in such an in-depth manner that you could even stretch Super Mushrooms to make Mario longer instead of wider when he eats the iconic vegetable. It’s little things like this that make Nintendo Nintendo, and I couldn’t be any more happy with that fact.
In the way of big things regarding the upcoming title, though, Nintendo also revealed that you aren’t just limited to a Super Mario Bros. NES way of designing things. You can seamlessly swap your level designs between a Super Mario Bros. and New Super Mario Bros. U-style base, making for an infinite amount of new possibilities and even fewer restrictions.
This is definitely one of the titles I’m looking forward to the most out of the entire E3 lineup. The idea of making your own Mario game is a dream that’ll finally be realized in the hearts of gamers across the globe in 2015.
