Shortly after the announcement of Miis, Amiibo involvement, and Palutena in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, more exciting details were spilled later during Nintendo’s Tuesday-long E3 event.

Diehard Smash fans, the character select screen has finally been revealed! In the official screenshot that we have of it, it’s looking as clean, crisp, and black-and-white as we’d have expected it to be, and that most certainly isn’t a bad thing.

Keep in mind that the characters present on this screen won’t necessarily be playable at first in the final version as this particular CSS was designed specifically with the Smash Invitational in mind. It’s still a neat reference point for how things are bound to look in the full release, though!

Perhaps even more spectacularly unveiled, though, are the official boxart pieces for both the Wii U and 3DS Super Smash Bros. releases. The Wii U version maintains a snappy blue “pop” to it, whereas the 3DS version is more of a fiery red. Some of the series’ trademark characters are present on each, including Mario, Link, Pikachu, and Kirby.

Super Smash Bros. will launch first on the 3DS on October, whereas it’ll come out for the Wii U this holiday season.
