Savvy gamers will remember the unveiling of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Patriots way back in 2011.
A Gameinformer exclusive story (that eventually blossomed into the game’s full unveiling) of a darkly, politically-charged turn for the best during the Spike 2011 Video Game Awards brought about a huge fan reaction. However, after three more years without any new developments concerning the title not making it past Ubisoft’s company doors, most gamers were obliged to think Patriots was dead in the water.
Well, they were thankfully proven wrong yesterday afternoon with the unveiling of Rainbow Six: Siege, which has been confirmed to be a total re-envisioning of the sweeping epic they had planned for Patriots a few years back.
Alongside the reveal of Siege came 6 minute-long game-play footage of the game’s multi-player mode. Two teams of four players (Team Raven and Team Rogue) battled it out in an impressive stealthscape that can only truly be described by watching the video yourself below.
