Ubisoft had tons to be excited about within its string of reveals yesterday at their E3 press conference. What’s just about taken the cake for the company though might just end up surprising you.
So, Valiant Hearts: The Great War looks incredibly brilliant. It’s a game that, in just its 2 minutes and 21 seconds’ screentime, managed to touch the hearts of gamers watching the stream across the globe. Now, that’s not something that a video game can do every day, yet Valiant Hearts does it with good reason.
It’s based off of the real-life, previously lost stories of 6 amazing heroes of World War I, and they’re all tied together by a singular string. In this case, that string is a dog, and that dog will make you cry in just about the most devistating way imaginable.
He delivers a soliloquy.
The aesthetic style developed by Ubi Art specifically for this game is also gorgeous in its own right. It looks and feels fittingly somber, which only enhances the trace sounds of a piano’s haunting melody as pieces of the story are fitted together by our nostalgic canine.
