The song “Old School Love” debuted in the US yesterday, October 14, and will feature on Lupe’s new album Tetsuo & Youth. The album is expected to drop early 2014 via Atlantic Records.
According to MTV, the track has a ‘90s R&B vibe and Sheeran will dominate the hook, singing: “As long as I’m here/ As long as you love me/ Give me that old school love right now.”
MTV also claimed that while the pair may seem like an unexpected match, Sheeran “has expressed his love for hip-hop and rap in quite a few interviews and on social media and has been snapped hanging with the likes of The Game and Rick Ross.”
Sheeran has been keeping himself busy over the last few months as he has just finished a six-month stint with Taylor Swift on her Red tour and is reportedly releasing his second album in February 2014.
The “Give Me Love” singer told the Daily Star, “I’ve had to whittle 70 songs down to 12.” He also spoke about the name of his second album, saying,” I can’t call an album + and then give the one after a regular name.”
